We were looking for a bible commentary that would give us some historical background along with deconstructing each passage to give us an idea of the general meaning. This commentary does just that and more! By far the best we have found based on what we were looking for (and we tried several).

It breaks down the context using the original Hebrew words and states the definition. It also gives multiple ways of what is being said.

Wish I had had this years ago. I enjoy having this as a companion to my daily bible reading.

Excellent commentary, gives references to scripture referred in commentary explanation, backs up commentary with scriptural texts. The references and explanations are from scripture, not personally based beliefs. Very pleased with this reference.

If it is the only grammar resource you can find (there are some free ones), I would recommend it. Really cute books. My kids are really enjoying learning piano with this series and enjoy the music that comes along with it (we use the free audio online but the main book also comes with a CD). Very active and a lot more fun than another book we used. She is a very early beginner so it will be interesting to see how this book progresses compared to the one my son used. He made a lot of progress in the book he used but this one is definitely more fun.

I’ve used these books off and on for several years. Sometimes I feel it goes to slowly, sometimes too fast. You have to fit the book to the student. I have other books I use with other young students as well.

I really like it. My 7 year old is doing great with a friend of mine teaching her using these books, along with the lesson book and CD. You definitely need the CD or you would be lost. I have no Piano skills and the instructions are clear enough I can help her when she becomes stuck on a section!

This is the second time we have a child going through the Faber piano books. They do a great job of combining theory with practice and not moving so quickly as to overwhelm.

I have been teaching piano lessons for over twenty years now and the Faber and Faber method has been my favorite since college. I love how thorough the Faber's are, covering everything from technique to ear training, sight reading, theory, and artistry. My students are never disappointed by the song selection and the duets are the best I've heard from any method series.Highly, highly recommended.

Amazing book. Yes it's technical and dense with information but that is the point! As a CranioSacral Therapy, our focus is learn the body's language so that we may create a space for the body to heal itself. This book helps us understand and become conscious to the body's function and how CST can help streamline the healing process.

Another great book by Dr. Upledger - taking us further on the path of understanding CranioSacral Therapy

This book is full of good information for a therapist who uses CranioSacral Therapy, but it is very difficult to read. I tried reading a little every day, but I couldn't finish the book. It was too technical for me.I highly recommend the Upledger CranioSacral Therapy workshops, though.

After reading Reyna Grande's The Distance Between Us, I was so excited to read this book and I can honestly say it is such a beautifully written book! Grande's vivid and detailed memoir shines light on her journey navigating higher academia in the U.S.. It's also a clear reflection on her hopes and dreams and how they strengthened her to overcome obstacles and identity issues as an immigrant, Mexican woman of color in the U.S. I highly recommend this book!!!

I am so happy Reyna Grande exists. She's made an impact on my life and with this book, I feel compelled to keep trying and chasing my dreams. She is a great role model to have around. We need our stories to be heard. Thank you Reyna!!!

Love the stories, the work her ability to inspire others to continue forward and it is all worth it in the end for her and her family.

A Dream Called Home is Reyna’s story of fighting for her dreams, despite her background, despite the setbacks and roadblocks, and despite the clichés and boxes people tend to stuff one another in here in the US (although that definitely doesn’t just happen here). She wrote about her story as a young Mexican girl crossing the border into the US in her memoir The Distance Between Us, and A Dream Called Home is the story of becoming an adult in a world where she never really feels at home. Each book can be read alone though.Reyna’s parents left her and her siblings with their grandmothers in Iguala, Mexico, when they were children, and crossed the border to the US. Iguala, at the time, and most likely still today, was extremely poor, and opportunities were few and far between. Reyna’s father came back to collect them when Reyna was about 9 and they made the difficult crossing together three times (the first two times they were sent back). That itself amazes me - the crossing is so hard for an adult, I can’t even imagine how tough it would have been on a young child. Her strength and perseverance have always been there…Anyway, in A Dream Called Home Reyna starts with her years at university, and moves on to telling the stories of how she became a teacher, a single mother, and how she continued to push herself to write and to be published. I don’t think I can express how inspiring this book was to me, and how there were some areas that I related to (but more that my partner relates to, our own stories and immigration stories meet and differ in many places). I will be buying a copy of this book for my children, so that when they are older they will understand some of the choices their parents had to make, and also know that the world is theirs, and their voices have as much weight as other voices.Reyna’s recollections are full of many profound statements that hit me hard: that feeling of not belonging anywhere anymore, a double identity that doesn’t fit in here or there. I still carry that with me wherever I go. Reyna has inspired me to keep pushing with my own stories and my own writing, and inspired me to keep reading and talking about the stories that no one wants to talk about.“As with the moon, there is the face that we immigrants show to the world, but our second face is the one we keep hidden in darkness so that no one can see us weeping.”

Grande's second memoir is as touching as the first. She picked up with attending college and discovering who she really is. Along the way, the author grapples with continuing family struggles, her own identity, and debt. After her college graduation, Grande became a teacher and continued her success as an author, She has tempestuous relationships until finding the one that works for her. I only wish I'd accoomplished as much as she has in her young life.
