If you are looking for a passion-filled story about a sizzling attraction between two people who should be foes rather than lovers, well look no further! This book is about Vano, a Zalaryn warrior turned conquered, out on a mission to colonize a new planet for his crumbling world of Zalaryn. As penance for his past actions he is sent on mission (perceived by him to be more of an exile) to a faraway planet Lekyo Prime that is inhabited by humans. Here he meets Bryn, the young Queen Regent, who is brave and defiant. She will take any measure to protect her people and planet from the alien invaders. She devises a plan where she will surrender herself, both her body and title, to negotiate a deal to keep her people on the planet. Little do either know that not only will one of them surrender, but that both will surrender in body and soul. And to add to their insatiable lust, Queen Bryn’s life is in danger and Vano must find the culprit before he loses it all.This is a captivating read filled with so many emotions and intrigue, keeping you hooked until the very last sentence and then…. reeled in even harder to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for the next installment of this trilogy! I highly recommend reading the previous trilogy Zalaryn Raiders, which starts off with High King Xalax (when he was crown prince) ,who is briefly mentioned in this new trilogy of Zalaryn Conquerors.
While it had started purely as a conqueror exerting rights over a conquered world, country, leader—it began to morph into something else for both of them. Bryn, unsure of herself as Queen even before being conquered by the aliens, begins to accept Vano’s role as a co-leader. For his part, Vano cannot understand why the human can and has become his bondmate, when all conquered beings would normally be extracted from the planet and used as labor or sold off to other planets. As uneasy start as pretend King and Queen grows into something else, especially when it appears an old danger has returned. And is a personal danger growing for Bryn from a trusted source? I enjoyed this book, with its well-written dialogue and narrative, great conflicting H/h, interesting ‘worlds’, fractious romance and a lead-in to the next book in the series that I’m looking forward to read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance review copy of this book.
It was a good book. Solid writing. Good characters although Bryn may come across as annoying for some- but not for me. It’s more like guilt and insecurity, and finding herself- these emotions influence her decisions. There wasn’t the typical romance angst, which I like. The hard-to-get or the plot gets in the way of the romance- there’s none of that. It was an original plot, something i hadn’t seen before. All-in-all, I really liked it and can’t wait for more.
This is the fourth book involving the Zalaryns by this author I’ve read and again she didn’t disappoint me. The story flowed seamlessly, ending with what I assume would be a setup for the next book, which I am looking forward to reading. It was well written and I didn’t find any typos, thank you! It was nice to see the two main characters second guessing themselves and each other for the decisions they were forced to make. But in the end finding a solution that would benefit not only them on a personal level but for both the humans and Zalaryns. If I were to give anything negative it would be that the story ended to quickly. I would have liked to see more interactions between the two different species as they dealt with each other on a daily basis - maybe in the next book.
Vano, the dominant Zalaryn male comes to Lekyo Prime to conquer and colonize instead he finds his bonded mate in Queen Bryn. This a great continuation of this series. There is betrayal, action and love.
A joy from beginning to end with enough action and drama to keep you on your toes. The author has talent for bringing the characters to life. A beautiful love story and hoping to read more.
I throughly enjoyed the storyline Viki Storm wrote so looking forward to the next installment since I so love series hope to see this one turned into one has alot of possibilities 😊
